Kandangan, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The South Hulu Sungai (HSS) District Government provides free ferry transportation from Central Habirau to Tambangan, Daha Selatan, and vice versa.
Head of Transportation Agency Said Ali Fachir at Tambangan on Tuesday (12/2) said the ferry was operated since Monday (11/2) and received a very positive response from the community.
"This ferry can contain 25 passengers and 15 motorbikes for one transport, operated every day from 6:00 to 18:00 for free," he said.
HSS Regent H Achmad Fikry hopes this ferry to be utilized optimally by the community as an alternative route for daily needs, such as children going to school and those going to the recitation assembly.
He explained, the background of this crossing facility was held because of the many proposals of the local community for easy access to crossing. While the procurement of a bridge certainly takes a long time.
The Regent, who was accompanied by the Head of the Transportation Agency Said Ali Fachir and the Daha Selatan Sub-District Head H. Ahmad Sapuan, to observe and tried to board the ferry and join the people who crossed into Habirau.
