Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Principal of state elementary school SDN Sungai Andai 3 Banjarmasin Dra Sulis M.Pd said about 500 works of art were exhibited by the school to achieve the title of provincial level Adiwiyata school.
"This is the work of our students, collected, then we make an exhibition booth so that they feel happy all their efforts are witnessed," Sulis said.
From the craft shown how their creativity looks. There are flowers, miniatures of cars, ships, trains, various other forms. All are made from plastic waste, such as bottles, drink straws, and cardboard waste.
"We are trying to do waste management with a 3R (reuse, reduce, and recycle) system," he said.
Adiwiyata School, he said, is a school that encourages the creation of knowledge and awareness of school residents in efforts to preserve the environment.
"We hope that our school will be included in the criteria," Sulis said.
Meanwhile, School Supervisor of the Sungai Jingah Area of Banjarmasin Education Agency Muhammad Ilmi expressed his appreciation for the efforts of SDN Sungai Andai 3 to go to Adiwiyata school.
According to him, this school is very likely to become an adiwiyata school to the provincial, even national level, if it continues to improve the school environment program that is beautiful, green and clean.
