Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The joint SAR team finally found a fisherman from Labuan Mas village, South Pulau Laut, Kotabaru, on Wednesday after three days lost in the sea.
Post Coordinator of SAR Kotabaru Teguh Prasetyo said the victim Dedi Haryono (24) was found already in a lifeless condition.
"The victim was found about two nautical miles from the sinking site," he said.
Earlier on Monday (7/5) the victim, as usual worked on the bagan (fishermen structure to catch fish) with two others. Suddenly, the motor boat they moored was detached.
Seeing that the victim took the initiative to save the drifted boat by plunging into the sea though he could not swim. The two men on the bagan had banned the victim, but he remained desperate.
With a jerry can as a buoy, the victim tried to reach the boat. But the jerry cans were detached from his hand.
"The jerry cans were out of his grip, so he finally drowned, because the victim was not able to swim," said Teguh.
The search was then conducted with a joint SAR team.
The sweeping area began from the location of the victim sank to the west according to the wind blowing for about five nautical miles. The three-day search process conducted in the middle of high winds and high waves up to two meters.
"On the third day of the search around seven o'clock in the morning, the victim was found dead, then the body was directly handed over to the family," said Teguh.
