Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 2/8 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Central Banjarmasin Sector Police (Polsekta) confiscated a number of cigarettes without excise ribbon from three shops in Pasar Baru area in the local town.
"Three people are secured from their respective stores, E (48), K (40) and A (54)," said the Central Banjarmasin Sector Police Chief Comr (Kompol) Wahyu Hidayat SIK here Wednesday.
The discovery of cigarettes without ribbon duty came from public information. Then, officers conducted an investigation and examined a number of shops allegedly sold the illegal cigarette.
The result, three shops proved to sell cigarettes without excise ribbon and all the evidence directly confiscated by the officers and the owners were also secured.
"The total number of unlicensed cigarettes we confiscated was 1,198 boxes," said Wahyu again.
To follow up the legal process, said Wahyu, the perpetrators will be submitted to the local Customs and Excise Office.
"Because this is the authority of Customs and Excise, then of course we coordinate with them and we are always ready to assist in the initial action," he said.
