Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR) Minister Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) has again exposed land crimes cases committed by land mafias.
The two land mafia cases in Bandung City and Bandung Regency had the potential to cause losses, both to the community and the state, totalling IDR3.6 trillion (around US$232.6 million), he revealed in a press conference held at West Java Regional Police Headquarters, Friday (Oct 18, 2024), South Kalimantan National Land Agency (BPN) in in Banjarbaru informed in a press release.
“First, we save people from injustice. Second, preventing uncertain situation from developing. The impact is not only economic but social as well and we can save the potential losses to the state and community, which are large more than IDR3.6 trillion, because the location is very strategic, if developed it has high value,” said Minister AHY.

The case in Dago Elos, Bandung City, was committed by falsifying documents and/or put false information into Authntic Deed.
Its location was in a metropolitan and in strategic area, and the total loss saved in this case was IDR3,603,335,000,000.
The other case occurred in Bandung District also involving document forgery, fraud, and embezzlement of housing construction permit processing services.
At this location, 264 housing units was to be built, and the total had been saved was IDR51,391,343,500.
The eradication of land mafia continues to be conducted in various regions by ATR Ministry/BPN through Anti-Land Mafia Task Force in collaboration with the police, prosecutor's office, regional government, as well as the actve role of community.
“For us, even one rupiah must be accounted for, even one rupiah musty be prevented from crime which causes losses to people and the state. So this is also our concern,” said ATR Minister/Head of BPN.
On the same occasion, the West Java Police Chief Akhmad Wiyagus asserted the Regional Police's commitment to take firm action against any legal violation in the land sector witout discrimination.
Director of Conflict Prevention and Handling concurrently Chair of the Ministry's Anti-Land Mafia Task Force Arif Rachman said that all parties had coordinated well in eradicating land mafia in Bandung City and Bandung Regency.
