Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Mayor of Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, Muhammad Aditya Mufti Ariffin launches free transportation named as "Juara" (Champion) to serve residents to the corners of the city.
The Mayor inaugurated the mass transportation with Buy The Service (BTS) scheme in the form of a feeder fleet to coincide with Road Safety Week (PKJ) 2024 at Dr Murdjani Square, Sunday.
"Alhamdulillah (praise be to Allah), a feeder fleet serving areas unexplored by public transport has been realized, so we hope it will make public transportation easier for the whole community," said Aditya.
Some 17 units Grand Max cars provided as feeder fleet are equipped with full AC, sliding doors, P3K (first aid kits), fire extinguishers and CCTV.
Aditya emphasized that the city government strives to provide the best service for the public, especially in transportation, so it is easier to reach areas that are not yet served by transportation.
"This free feeder fleet serves five routes which previously have been tested to find out the extent of transportation needs on routes which will then be determined," he pointed out.

The route I to serve Landasan Ulin neighborhood from Taman Makam Pahlawan (TMP) or heroes cemetary - Jalan Peramuan - Jalan Trikora - Jalan Kenanga - Radar Halte - Jalan A Yani and back to TMP.
Route II from Minggu Raya Bus Stop (Halte) - Jalan Pangeran Suriansyah - Jalan Panglima Batur - Jalan Karang Anyar - Jalan Kebun Karet - Jalan Ahmad Yani, and back to Minggu Raya.
Then, route III covers Landasan Ulin Banjarbaru area from Al Muhtadien Mosque Halte - Jalan Golf - Jalan Pelita 5 - Jalan Kurnia, and returns to Al Muhtadien Mosque.
Route IV starting from Km Zero Banjarbaru Halte - Jalan A Yani - Jalan RO Ulin - Jalan Trikora - Al Munawwarah Mosque roundabout - Palam roundabout - Jalan Karang Rejo - Minggu Raya Halte, and back to Km Zero.
The last, route V from Simpang Empat Terminal - Jalan Mistar Cokrokusumo - Cempaka - SMPN 12.
Each route is served by three cars to facilitate public mobility.
"The operation of this feeder fleet starts at 17.00 until 19.00 WITA and its is hoped that the community to make the best use of it, so as to reduce private transportation which can prevent traffic jam," he said.
The launch of feeder fleet was witnessed by the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation's Technology and Energy Expert Staff Suharto, religious scholars, the community, heads of government agencies or SKPD within the city governmentof Banjarbaru.
