Kandangan, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - South Hulu Sungai (HSS) District has recorded an open unemployment rate (TPT) of 2.12 percent, the lowest in South Kalimantan Province.
Head of HSS Manpower, Cooperative, Small and Medium Enterprice Office (Disnaker KUKMP) Siti Erma through Manpower Affairs Head Muhammad Aris here said that the TPT's rate indicates two unemployed people for every 100 workforce.
"Currently our workforce up to June 2024 is around 132,575 workers, with 2,813 are unemployed," he said, Monday.

Based on education, job seekers in HSS consist of 1 not completed elementary school (SD), 13 SD completed, 33 junior high school (SLTP), 259 high school (SMA), 172 high vocational school (SMK).
Diploma 3 (D3) 20, bachelor (D4) 124, and most job seekers are from high school and vocational school level.
"Other problems that occur in employment is layoff (PHK), which results in increased unemployment. So far, layoff reports we have received are still minimal," he said.
Until mid-July 2024, the Disnaker KUKMP had received only one layoff complaint in February.
The report had been followed up with mediation, which resulted in an agreement between both parties.
"Reports of layoff, where there is a dispute between employers and workers, most likely due to layoff and unsatisfied severance pay or compensation, then we try to mediate starting from bipartite then tripartite negotiations," he explained.
He added that if an agreement has not obtained, then mediation will continue to the provincial level through the provincial level industrial relation mediator.
