Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Banjarbaru government is preparing a strategic program to reduce slums, especially in urban areas, so that it becomes more orderly and healthy.
"The set-up program is prepared and target to reduce urban slums," said Banjarbaru City Secretary Said Abdullah in Banjarbaru, Friday.
He said the program has been very ready to run while the team and moves have also been set up, so just waiting for the disbursement of funds to finance the activities. The program which received financial assistance from the provincial government of South Kalimantan and the central is expected to run maximum.
"Slums targeted is along a Kemuning River bank either the left or right side that will be organized and become livable area," he said.
He mentioned, along the Kemuning river bank to be fully arranged, completed with supporting infrastructure, good roads and bridges, so as to give comfort to people, livable and become a tourist attraction.
Other slum areas will be laid out is a Basung River and surrounding. This region annually flooded during the rainy season, so it must be addressed thoroughly.
In addition, the Ulin Raya market environment in the Sub-district of Landasan Ulin also targeted to be addressed, because after the operation in 2011, it now looks shabby.
"Quite a lot of construction in the area of the market that need to be arranged, because if left unchecked will make the area become increasingly shabby uncomfortable to visit," he said.
