Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) provided strategic input for the regional development of Hulu Sungai Utara (HSU) District, South Kalimantan, through its development planning  meeting (Musrenbang) for the 2027 Regional Work Plan (RKPD).

"HSU has a great potential to be developed as an agrominapolitan area that integrates agriculture, fisheries, and livestock sectors based on local potential," said ULM Rector Professor Ahmad Alim Bachri here on Friday.

When attending the district's musrenbang, Professor Alim acknowledged that HSU possessed a significant potential of local resources for integrated development.

He suggested, among other things, the development of snakehead fish albumin.

The rector said his readiness to attract investors and liaise Agriculture Ministry or related ministries for the development of HSU.

Through agrominapolitan, he said, development will not only focus on increasing production, but also creating added value and community welfare.

The Rector shared a number of strategic recommendations, ranging from mapping regional potential, strengthening role of regional government agencies (SKPD) in program integration, to preparing medium-term development action plan for the next five years.

“We are also overseeing this through scientific study, applied research, and mentoring to ensure that development is more focused, sustainable, and has a real impact on the community,” he said.

HSU Regent Sahrujani emphasized that the 2027 regional development planning forum (Musrenbang RKPD) is a crucial stage in determining the direction of regional development.

This forum serves a shared space to refine the draft work plan (RKPD) until it becomes a final document.

He explained that the 2027 RKPD marks the second year of implementation of the 2025–2029 Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) with the vision of "HSU Bangkit", which focus on strengthening the economy, improving quality of human resources, developing infrastructure, public service, and preserving the environment.
