Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The 2023 South Kalimantan Expo (Kalsel Expo 2023) is showing the progress of MSMEs after the COVID-19 pandemic, said Governor Sahbirin Noor when opening the expo in Banjarbaru City, Wednesday.
The expo at Murjani Field which will take place from August 30 to September 3, 2023, he said, is not only involving the local MSMEs, but also participants from outside the province, even from the Netherlands.
South Kalimantan through this activity, he said, wants to convey its economic mission to welcome the world as well as gateway to the National Capital City (IKN) of Nusantara in East Kalimantan.
According to Uncle Birin, the governor's nickname, South Kalimantan has a beautiful natural wealth with abundant resources, plus the Meratus Geopark which has been recognized nationally to be submitted as the UNESCO Global Geopark (UGGp).
Through the expo, as a series of the 73rd Anniversary of South Kalimantan and the 78th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence , he introduced the new tagline of South Kalimantan "Kalsel Babussalam" which will be echoed throughout Indonesia and the world.
Acting Head of South Kalimantan Trade Office Nurul Fajar Desira Ces reported that a total 250 booths to enliven the expo activities.
Here, he said, the progress of the development in the province is displayed while introducing MSMEs leading products, opening up national and international markets.
"It is hoped that with this activity, the world of SMEs and creative economy in the Province of South Kalimantan to continue to progress and develop for the prosperous of the people," he said.
