Tanjung, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - PT Makmur Sejahtera Wisesa was awarded with ToP CSR Awards 2023 for processing coal fly ash and bottom ash (FABA) waste from its steam power plant (PLTU) into construction material, concrete brick.
PT MSW, a subsidiary of PT Adaro Energy Tbk that build a 2x30 MW coal-fired CFB power plant in Tanjung, South Kalimantan, won the 2023 Top CSR Awards on Star 4 as an appreciation of the company's CSR at the "very good" level.
“We express our gratitude for the support of all parties for this achievement,” PT MSW President Director Edy Surahman Efendi noted in a press statement received here on Monday.
Edy said that the award becomes a motivation for PT MSW to continue to improve better results.
“We will continue to improve better results and provide benefits for the company and all stakeholders," added Edy who also received TOP Leader on CSR Commitment 2023.

PT MSW, which is a PLTU company from Adaro Group, has a sustainable strategy through the management of corporate social responsibility, one of them through the utilization of FABA waste.
In accordance with the Indonesian Government Regulation No. 22 of 2021 FABA is not included in B3/non B3 waste.
PT MSW utilizes fly ash and bottom ash as materials bricks making mix. It function in concrete brick is physically like sand but has binding properties like cement so that it can be used to reduce the use of cement and sand in brick making.
This program innovation has been implemented since 2021 starting with initiation and trial phases.
Then, it continued with commercial phase in 2022 and 2023 completed with product standardization and certification with SNI standards.
PT MSW collaborates with Majelis Al Busyra Foundation Tanjung as its parter, now that it has four production centers spread in Tabalong District, the company's operational area, with a total of 17 households get immediate benefits.
While the current users are housings, companies, individuals, and for social activities with a total uptake ash reached 303,270 kilograms with a yield of 239,422 bricks or worth IDR332,796.900.
PT MSW is considered to have successfully implemented CSV (Creating Shared Value) program and create economic value. In addition to generating sustainable social value.
In the future, PT MSW plans to develop new products and reflicating program and will continue to expand marketing.
