Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The district government of Kotabaru continued Ramadan 1447 Hijri Safari at the Al-Musamahah Mosque in Mekarpura Village, Pulau Laut Tengah Sub-district.
Deputy Regent Syairi Mukhlis said Ramadan Safari is an important opportunity strengthen relationship between the local government and the community.
“Ramadan Safari is the government's annual agenda. Besides being a gathering event (silaturahmi), we use it as a space to receive people's aspiration and an opportunity to provide social and other assistance,” he said here on Monday.
People's aspirations are collected and compiled in a work plan to be then aligned with the regional vision and mission.

“There are some aspirations conveyed by the community of Pulau Laut Tengah, particularly related to infrastructure conditions,” he explained.
He also outlined several programs have been implemented, including in education and health.
“In education we had implemented our vision and mission in 2025 by providing educational facilities for school children, from early chilhood education (PAU)D, elementary school (SD), and junior high school (SMP) throughot Kotabaru,” he expounded.
He said Pulau Laut Tengah is the gateway that become an icon of Kotabaru.

Specifically when the construction of bridge connecting the island with mainland of Kalimantan completed, as targeted in 2028 and expected to be operational in 2029. The impact will be tremendous, with significant economic growth for the surrounding community.
“I am confident when the bridge is completed, Kotabaru, especially Pulau Laut Tengah, will become a popular tourist destination, as Kotabaru boasts extraordinary natural resources, particularly in tourism, including marine tourism, mountain tourism, and nature tourism,” he said.
Deputy Regent also explained that the Regent is currently pursuing to ensure that all villages in Kotabaru have well-lit roads at night.
He conveyed the Regent's message to the sub-district heads to work with sub-district officials and all village heads to maintain the conducive condition in their respective areas, so that the community can perform their religious activities comfortably.
Acting Sub-district Head of Pulau Laut Tengah, Chrisna Effendi, said that Pulau Laut Tengah has seven villages, and all attended this Ramadan Safari to foster camaraderie (silaturahmi).
