Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA) - The Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD)-West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Office recorded that five districts and cities in the province are affected by disasters due to extreme weather that occurred over the past three days.
Head of West Nusa Tenggara BPBD Ruslan Abdul Gani stated that, based on a report he received, the five regions affected by the disasters are Mataram, Central Lombok, West Lombok, East Lombok, and Bima.
In detail, Mataram was struck by tidal waves caused by high sea levels that occurred at Likungan Mapak, Jempong Baru, he told ANTARA here on Sunday.
This catastrophe severely damaged three houses while 17 households or 68 people should temporarily flee their homes to a safe place.
Meanwhile, flood occurred in Central Lombok, specifically in Mertak Village and Kuta Village.
"For Central Lombok, some 199 households or 629 people get affected. Meanwhile, the number of damaged houses is still being evaluated," he explained.
For West Lombok, storm followed by downpour toppled several trees in Penimbung, Gunung Sari.
As a result, four houses were severely damaged and another suffered mild damage while five households or 25 people moved to a safer place.
In East Lombok, there was a tornado that hit Montong Beter, West Sakra, on Saturday, causing a household to fall victim, and one housing unit suffered severe damage.
Lastly, in Bima, there was a strong wind and heavy rain on Saturday which moderately damaged two housing units and mildly damaged one housing unit. Three households or 12 people got affected.
"Thus, in total, there are five districts and cities that experience the weather-related disasters affecting 226 households or 738 people," Gani said.
