Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - Head of South Kalimantan Tourism Office Muhammad Syafruddin announced that Loksado Festival this year will be held on June 24 to 26. It will comes lively with many attractions.
"There will be cultural performance of Dayak indigenous people and the adventure of conquering river rafting by riding bamboo rafting," he said in Banjarmasin, Thursday.
Previously on June 23, the annual bicycle event Tour de Loksado will take place from Banjarmasin to Loksado in South Hulu Sungai District.
"Tour de Loksado is part of the series to support Loksado Festival," he said.
The festival, he said, now included in the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy's program called Kharisma Event Nusantara (KEN).
South Kalimantan tourism, he said, was lucky to be listed in 100 events of the 2022 KEN's calender.
Loksado is an area that is included in the Meratus Geopark, which is being pursued to become a Unesco Global Geopark (UGG).
"Three events in South Kalimantan that entered KEN, namely the Sa'ijaan Cultural Festival in Kotabaru, which has been carried out, then Loksado Festival, and in October there will be Lok Baintan Floating Market Festival in Banjar District," he pointed out.
KEN, which was launched in April 2021 to replace the Calender of Events (COE), was an effort to keep alive the tourism and creative economy industry, especially the tourism events.
It is, said Syarifuddin, to promote tour destination, to boost tourist visits, as well as to empower the local potentials, to give potential impact on economy, social, and culture.
