Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Kotabaru Government built a low-cost apartment (known here as rusunawa) specifically to accommodate students from outside the area.
"Local governments express many thanks to the central government which has helped local governments in realizing the establishment of low-cost apartment for students," said the acting regent of Kotabaru H Isra, after inaugurating rusunawa Complex Polytechnic Kotabaru, Thursday.
Head of Housing and Human Settlements Agency H Zuhairil adding, rusunawa management will be submitted to the Polytechnic Kotabaru campus.
"Hopefully, this Rusunawa help students from outside the region in order to stay as long as in continuing education in Kotabaru," he explained.
Zuhairil admitted in later operations rusunawa still has obstacles, among them, the unavailability of electricity from PT PLN due to over capacity.
Director of the Polytechnic Kotabaru Ibn Faozi said the availability of low-cost apartments are expected to support the improvement of the quality of education in the district of Kotabaru.
He also invited the community to participate to keep the Kotabaru Polytechnic which is launched into the area of education.
