Kandangan, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - South Hulu Sungai (HSS) government opened a discounted food market names as Bazar Sehati in a bid to control inflation and to welcome Ramadhan
Head of HSS Trade Agency Sudiyono here said the agency collaborated with Food Security Office, Agriculture Agency, Manpower, Cooperative, and MSMEs Agency, and a number of distributors to provide the bazar.
"The discounted bazaar is as the government effort to help ease the burden of people in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic, as well as to control inflation ahead of Ramadhan," he said, Tuesday (29/3).
The bazar at Palidangan Sehati Park, was also aimed to promote leading products of local MSMEs by applying health protocols with "Pedulilindungi" QR scan.
People who enter the area of the discounted market were required to show a vaccine card and then be given a stamp on the hand as a sign of passing screening. For residents who have not been vaccinated, the committee has provided a vaccination service tent.
Regent H Achmad Fikry said the was grateful to witness the bazaar held by the Trade Office together with other agencies, including a number of distributor sponsors such as TransMart, Wings Food, and Indofood.
According to him, people really need affordable prices. He and the heads of agencies had discussed about increasing the frequency of discounted market to help the community, especially during Ramadhan.
Today, the discounted market is being held in Kandangan Sub-district, the plan is on April 12 to be held in North Daha Sub-district.
