Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Banjarbaru City has recorded the highest second dose complete vaccination in South Kalimantan with an achievement of 85 percent of 253,442 population based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health as of March 25, 2022.
"Alhamdulilah (praise be to Allah) we are grateful that vaccination program in Banjarbaru is running fast with the highest achievement so far at the provincial level," said Banjarbaru Police Chief Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Nur Khamid.
In addition to second dose received by 166,425 people or 85 percent, the number of recipients of the first dose vaccine has reached 98 percent or 191,415 people from the total target of 195,115 people.
However, Khamid stated that this good achievement did not necessarily make the city complacent, owing that President Joko Widodo want the target of 100 percent at least for the first dose, in addition to a maximum complete vaccination must be met.
As the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo instructed all provincial, city and district police to move fast to complete vaccination by 100 percent according to the target of their respective regions, Khamid said that his party continues to increase the acceleration of vaccination services.

Other target to pursue, Khamid said, is vaccination for elderly, especially the second dose. Currently the second dose vaccine has covered 8,119 people or 59.53 percent of 13,639 targets. While the first dose has reached 10,803 people or 79.21 percent.
"As the number of COVID-19 cases continue to go down, now only 38 patients are being treated and the vaccination rate is high. We hope that people economy will continue to rise, but we still require discipline in health protocols in carrying out our activities," he said.
