Balangan, South Kalimantan (AntaranewKalse) - The Balangan Police Chief AKBp Sudrajad Hariwibowo keeps appealing companies and citizens not to burn land.
"Besides endangering yourself, land and forest fires endangering other residential areas. Not to mention the smoke produced can damage the health of many people," said Sudrajad.
The police chief said that after obtaining information that a resident found dead while trying to control the fire that burns the land in the village of Batu Merah RT 02 Sub-district of Lampihong.
According to Rijal, a resident of Lampihong, Monday at around 12:20 victims Sahman (80) planned to open his own plantation land by burning.
By bringing a hand sprayer, victim thought he could control the fire by burning the land bit by bit. But not according to estimates, the fire became large and spread everywhere and the victim was shocked.
Feeling responsible, the victim kept trying to extinguish the fire with a hand sprayer alone without the help of other residents.
The growing flames and dense smoke produced and eventually make the victim overwhelmed and fell on the scene.
Residents found the victim around 14:00 immediately took him to a nearby midwife as first aid.
The victim then taken to the Balangan General Hospital. After the medical team treated the victim turns lifeless, and was expected to die in the journey or at the scene.
