Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Banjarbaru City won the Smart City award from the Communication and Informatics Ministry as it is considered successful in implementing the national program.
Informatics Application Director-General Samuel Abrijani Pangerapan of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics presented the award to Banjarbaru Mayor H M Aditya Mufti Ariffin in Tangerang, Banten, Tuesday.
"Alhamdulillah (praise be to Allah), we are grateful and proud of the Smart City award that is presented by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics. This is of course the beautiful gift for Banjarbaru City before the end of the year," said the Mayor.
Aditya thanked his residents and all parties involved in the success of Smart City program, both the government working units (SKPD) and the ranks of the government from the city to the neighborhood unit (RT) level.
"Thank you all SKPD and all the level of government till RT and to the previous head of region for his contribution to the development, comfort, and creativity for the progress of the City of Banjarbaru," he remarked.

Smart City is a sustainable development program that aims to provide easy access to information where the main player is the community itself.
Banjarbaru itself in 2018 was designated among 50 districts and cities to enter the second phase of making a master plan for a smart city that involved the City's Communication and Informatics Agency and Development Planning Board (Bappeda).
The result was the Smart City masterplan document for2019-2023 which included the stages and strategies for achieving 6 dimensions, namely smart branding, smart economy, smart living, smart society, smart environment, and annual quick win.
