Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Waters between Pamalikan Island and Matasirih Island in Pulau Sembilan Sub-district, Kotabaru, is vulnerable to fishing activity using a bomb.
Officer of Board of Coastal and Marine Resources Management (BPSPL) Pontianak Andrian Saputra said on Sunday via his cellphone he had received reports from Matasirih Island fishermen that there were fishermen using bombs.
"The information we received, the fishermen who catch fish by using bombs were from outside South Kalimantan," he said.
The information obtained in May, when the Board of Coastal and Marine Resources Management Pontianak carried out sensitization activities and monitoring turtle conservation.
Based on direct observation in the waters between Pamalikan and Matasirih, he said, the condition of coral reef seen many destroyed or dead as a result of fish bomb blast.
It was, he added, has been submitted to the relevant authorities such as the water police (Polair), Navy (AL) and fisheries supervisory on some forum meeting on management of marine resources and fisheries.
