Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Head of the South Kalimantan Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora) Hermansyah noted that over one thousand athletes participated in the South Kalimantan Student Sports Week (POPDA) from 12 to 16 July 2021 in Banjarmasin and Banjarbaru.
According to him, although more than a thousand athletes took part, the POPDA was carried out with very strict COVID-19 health protocols. All athletes and committees were required to obey the rules set by the COVID-19 Task Force.
"Therefore, the capacity of POPDA participants in each match is limited, only 50 percent are allowed to attend," said Hermansyah here, Monday.
Meanwhile, Head of Sports Achievement Improvement of the agency M Fitri Hernadi said the 2021 POPDA competing for ten sports in Banjarmasin, including rowing in Awang Permai River with a total of 110 athletes.
Then, wrestling in the Hasanuddin Sports Hall (GOR) 130 athletes, archery 110 athletes at the arrow field of Hasanuddin Sports Hall.

Swimming also in Hasanuddin Sports Hall with 100 athletes, and judo at H Bambang Sports Hall with 130 athletes.
The karate sport is attended by 110 athletes in Borneo Futsal Banjarmasin. While Kempo with 150 athletes, and taekwondo 120 athletes, both at the SKB Mulawarman volley indoor building Banjarmasin.
Boxing was participated by 60 athletes held at Sasana Wisma Kartika Antasari, and sand volleyball took place at the Gatot Subroto sand volleyball Banjarmasin with a total of 210 athletes.
"Meanwhile, hundreds of athletes in athletics will compete in Banjarbaru," said Fitri.
