Rantau, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The release of Tapin Contingent for South Kalimantan 2019 Popda (Public Relations of Tapin Government)
Tapin District Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora) targets the Tapin contingent to bring home eight gold from the South Kalimantan Provincial Student Sports Week (Popda).
Chairperson of the Tapin Popda Contingent Mulyoto said athletes were optimistic they could achieve what was targeted, because Tapin participated in 7 from 10 sports contested.
"In one sport there are several contested medals, for example wrestling, with 16 medals to fight over, we are targeting to win five medals," he said.
This team sent 69 contingent members, consisting of 47 athletes competing in wrestling, athletics, karate, swimming, taekwondo, sand volleyball and archery. "The remaining are 22 officials and coaches," he said.
Tapin Regent M Arifin Arpan hopes the Tapin contingent will mobilise all of their abilities. "Give it out all your abilities to get the best achievement," he said.
However, the most important thing is said by the Regent, is sportsmanship and togetherness, and of course take care of health. "Keep the sportsmanship and team together, because the most important thing in sports is sportsmanship," he said.
