He stated that the South Kalimantan Provincial Government's program was very good as an effort to preserve the environment, while preventing natural disasters, such as floods and landslides.
Thus, he said, through the synergy of planting trees together it is expected there will more massive increase of trees until nature is finally preserved.
"Of course we don't want the major flood that hit South Kalimantan earlier this year to happen again. It's time for us all to be more concerned about nature conservation by planting trees," said the one-star general.

Trees have a very important role in living things. Trees are air filters on earth, it absorb harmful gas and components in the air then release oxygen.
Trees also store groundwater and lower air temperature, which is now getting hotter due to deforestation.
Meanwhile, acting Governor Safrizal said collaboration in Green Revolution program is part of efforts to improve the quality of the environment in South Kalimantan.
"South Kalimantan's environment quality index is below the national average. With hard work and collaboration, the land cover figure can be on target and can be met every year. If necessary, it can exceed the target," he said.
