Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto restricted the number of people working from office to merely 25 percent in red zones, so that those who work from home can reach 75 percent.
"Office activities or workplaces, both ministries and agencies, have a circular from the Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Ministry, as well as for the regulation of state-owned enterprises (BUMN) and region-owned enterprises (BUMD), specifically in the red zone, 75 percent for work from home that means 75 percent for working at home, while in non-red zones, 50-50 with the implementation of strict health protocols, and the application of working hours in shifts," Hartarto noted during a virtual press conference from his office in Jakarta, Monday.
This aligns with the government's decision to intensify the implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) that will take effect from June 22 to July 5.
"Those working from home can take turns, so that no one travels or moves to other areas, and this will be further regulated by the ministry or institution and local government," the minister remarked.
Meanwhile, teaching and learning activities are being conducted online again for red zones, while the other zones will follow the arrangements from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemenristekdikti).
"Activities of the essential sector, be it the basic service industry, public utilities, or national vital projects, and places where the people's basic needs are met, such as supermarkets and pharmacies, are also running according to regulations and can operate at 100-percent capacity, with stricter operating hours, capacity, and procedures," Hartarto stated.
Meanwhile, industries that already have an Operational and Industrial Activity Mobility Permit (IOMKI) remain valid.
"Activities of restaurants, food stalls, and street vendors, both independent and at markets or shopping centers or malls for dine-in or eating and drinking activities are allowed at a maximum capacity of 25 percent, and the rest is taken home," the minister explained.
Furthermore, delivery service is adjusted to the restaurant's operating hours.
"Hence, it is limited to 8 p.m. local time, and the procedures are strictly enforced. Shopping centers, malls or markets, and trade centers, can operate until 8 p.m. local time and the visitor capacity is set at a maximum of 25 percent of the capacity," Hartarto expounded.
For construction activities, the construction or project site can operate smoothly and can continue to operate.
"Worship activities at places of worship, mosques, prayer rooms, churches, temples, or others in red zones will be temporarily suspended until it is declared safe according to a circular from the minister of religion," the minister stated.
A separate circular will be issued specifically for regulating Eid al-Adha activities, including the slaughter of sacrificial animals and their distribution, and this is regulated by health protocols.
"Activities at public areas, public facilities, public parks, tourist attractions, and other public areas in the red zone are temporarily closed until declared safe. In other zones, a maximum of 25 percent is allowed to open, with arrangements from the local government and by implementing stricter procedures," Hartarto remarked.
Meanwhile, art, cultural, social, and community activities at art, social, and cultural locations that result in crowding in the red zone should be closed until declared safe, while other zones are allowed to open at a maximum of 25 percent, and the regulatory capacity lies with the local government, with the application of strict procedures," the minister stated.
Hartarto noted that a maximum of 25 percent of the room's capacity was permitted for wedding receptions, and on-site dining was barred.
"Meeting activities and seminars are conducted offline and declared closed in red zones until announced safe. Of course, they are allowed in other zones at a maximum 25-percent capacity," the minister remarked.
Meanwhile, for means of public transportation, the local government is managing the capacity and operating hours by applying more stringent procedures.
