Head of the South Kalimantan BPS M Edy Mahmud in Banjarbaru on Tuesday said Banjarmasin has posted an inflation of 0.75 percent, Tanjung 0.71 percent, and Kotabaru 0.1 percent.
"Inflation occurred due to rising price which indicated a rise in most of the expenditure group index. Only the personal care group and other services index price experienced a decline," he said.
If calculated based on the calendar year, South Kalimantan experienced 0.88 percent inflation in November 2020, while the year-on-year inflation rate (November 2020 against November 2019) was 1,31 percent.
The rise of prices of air transport, chicken, shallots, egg, and household fuel contributed the most to inflation in South Kalimantan.
83 cities were recorded inflation, while 7 cities registered deflation. The highest inflation was in Tual 1.15 percent and the lowest in Bima 0.01 percent. While the deepest deflation was in Kendari 0.22 percent and the lowest in Meulaboh and Palopo 0.01 percent.
In Kalimantan, 11 cities recorded inflation, and one city experienced deflation. The highest inflation was in Sintang at 0.96 percent and the lowest in Kotabaru 0.1 percent.
