Pelaihari, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Tanah Laut District Forestry Agency continues to take action against those responsible for burning land, even it already reported arsonist in Bajuin Subdistrict to police.
"We've been prosecuting fire setters to be prosecuted, but the perpetrator fled" said Forest Agency Head Ir H Akhmad Hairin, MP, on Wednesday (1/10).
The perpetrators fled, according to him, allegedly burned his own land, and resulted in approximately 53 hectares of Public Forest Park (Tahura) in Tanah Laut and Banjar District borders burnt.
"In addition, there is also rubber plant owned by a company that is carrying out reclamation burnt," he said.
Tahura associated with fires, it was the report of Banjar District Forest Agency to Tanah Laut.
"We no longer compromise on land arsonists, because we had disseminate from installation of banners, billboards and radio calls," he said.
According to Hairin, not only crack down on arsonists as individuals, it also has given warning letters to companies that detected a hot spot in case of fire to extinguish the fire that burns in the corporate area.
In accordance with the existing rules, offenders will be charged under forest burning Act No. 41/1999, article 50 paragraph 3, letter d, on banning of burning forests and proven perpetrators threatened confinement 10 years in prison.
