Chairman of Kotabaru DPRD's Commission II Jerry Lumenta said the two ferry piers, were built using the state budget by the Ministry of Transportation.
"The administrative process is running, and now awaiting a signature of the President of the Republic of Indonesia," said Jerry, Thursday.
The PDIP politician said to meet the necessary condition for legality and legacy of documents, the grant delivery is formally scheduled for 2021.
This information was obtained when the commission made a working visit to the Land Transportation Management Center (BPTD) Region XV of South Kalimantan a few days ago.
"Thus the status is clear, so both executive and legislative only need to enter the budget for maintenance," said Jerry.
The two piers had previously become a polemic regarding their maintenance budget. It was because the facilities which were built with state budget fund were under the authority of the Ministry of Transportation.
When they both are granted to the Kotabaru government, Jerry continued, the piers which have been operated since two years ago will clearly become the responsibility of the district, both for management and maintenance.
