Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - The South Kalimantan Central Statistics Agency (BPS) revealed, the value of the province's exports rose 6.18 percent in February compared to January 2014.
The local BPS Chief Dyan Pramono Effendi here on Tuesday said South Kalimantan export value in February 2014 recorded 705.85 million US dollars. However, when compared to February 2013 when it reached 885.52 million USD export value then it fell 20.29 percent in February 2014.
"The main largest export commodities in February 2014 were mineral fuels (HS 27) with a value of 568.21 million USD," he said.
Then, groups of fats and animal/vegetable oils (HS 15) with a value of 116.10 million USD, as well as groups of wood and products of wood (HS 44) with a value of 16.59 million USD.
The main countries of export destination in February 2014 were China with a value of 234.08 million USD, India 201.75 million USD, and Japan with a value of 88.83 million USD.
While the import of South Kalimantan, said Dyan, in February 2014 it reached 239.91 million USD, up 39.50 percent compared to January 2014 which amounted to 171.98 million USD. However, the value of imports in February 2014 decreased by 6.82 percent when compared to 257.47 million USD in February 2013.
Most major commodity imports in February 2014 were mineral fuels (HS 27) with a value of 209.87 million USD. Then groups of vehicles and parts (HS 87) with a value of 17.26 million USD, and mechanical group (HS 84) with a value of 5.80 million USD.
The main supplier countries of South Kalimantan imports from Singapore in February 2014 with a value of 140.74 million USD, 44.24 million USD from Malaysia, and 24.36 million USD from Hong Kong.
Based on the value of exports and imports, South Kalimantan recorded surplus 465.94 million USD in trade balance in February 2014, according to Dyan.
