Kotabaru has resolved e-KTP problems of its 26.476 residents

Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The problem of 26.476 residents of Kotabaru District, South Kalimantan, who do not have electronic ID (e-KTP) have been resolved. The local legislative council (DPRD) has held a consultation meeting with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the ministry ready to supply e-KTP blanks upon request.

"Alhamdulillah, from the consultation meeting it was revealed there was a supply of 16 million e-KTP blanks at the ministry and it ready to supply upon request," said the Secretary of Commission I of DPRD, Rabbiansyah, Friday (Feb 7, 2020).

Previously, the council indicated as many as 26.476 residents of the district have not been recorded for e-KTP. Robby, the secretary familiarly called, admitted the data was revealed in a working meeting with the Kotabaru Population and Civil Registry Office (Disdukcapil).

On the forum, he continued, the reason was uncovered due to the empty supply of e-KTP blanks in Kotabaru. In addition to the limited printers, of 4 units only 2 can be used.

While the delay in service was also caused by the fact that 9 structural positions for three years were still filled by temporary officials.

The Commission I then made a consultation to the Home Affairs Ministry. When confirmed, it turned out the ministry has a supply of 16 million e-KTP blanks and ready to supply the region if there is a demand, Robby said.

The ministry even said it would distribute the blanks in accordance with the region's ability to print with a count of 10 days, it could be 5 thousand or 10 thousand or according to abilities.
