Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Communities in Sebuku Island, Kotabaru district, until today still rely on rain water, dug wells and river water for daily use.
Head of Kotabaru Human Settlements and Housing Agency H Akhmad Rivai, here on Wednesday, said the clean water utilized community Sebuku Island District, generally from river water that comes from rain-fed, and well water from dug wells and boreholes.
"For that, Kotabaru 2013 budget allocated Rp65 million for the construction of water infrastructure in the village of Sungai Bali, island of Sebuku," he said.
According to the mission and vision of Regents Kotabaru H Irhami Ridjani, efforts to meet the need for clean water keep to be encouraged. Of them with an inventory of well water and river water, improvement of facilities and infrastructure such as procurement of container, procurement of pipes and pumps.
Rivai expect, Head of Sebuku Island Subdistrict Abdul Wahid to initiative to involve local companies in meeting water need for its citizens.
