Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment will improve the regulation to ease investment and speed up the development of renewable energy in Indonesia.
"The development of renewable energy has been started, but it should be accelerated. We will harmonize the regulation and ease investment," Deputy for Infrastructure Coordinator of the ministry Ridwan Djamaluddin stated at EBTKE ConEx 2019 here on Thursday.
Djamaluddin admitted that the current regulation had yet to support the development of renewable energy, particularly concerning the selling price.
He noted that the regulation will be harmonized in line with the recommendations of businessmen.

"We should take into account its economic feasibility and not compare apple-to-apple with fossil fuel. We will manage the regulation to make investment in renewable energy attractive," Djamaluddin remarked.
Human resource potential is also crucial for accelerating renewable energy development, he remarked.
The Indonesian Renewable Energy Society (METI) and the Energy and Mineral Resource Ministry organized the 8th Indo EBTKE ConEx 2019 at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo), Kemayoran, on November 6-8.
The expo themed, "Energy Transition Toward Sustainable Energy Era," will bring together local and international stakeholders to share information on the development of renewable energy.
