Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - About 5 thousands of people from millennial generation, from school children to universities students, performed greening action by planting trees on critical land together with the Governor of South Kalimantan Sahbirin Noor.
They planted trees in the protected forest in Liang Anggang Urban Village, Banjarbaru, Friday (Oct 25, 2019) morning.
The planting action in the frame work of the 2019 National Movement of Recovering River Basin (DAS) also took place in the hill area of Karang Taruna Village in Tanah Laut District.

"This action performed simultaneously in districts and cities across South Kalimantan," Governor remarked.
According to him, this movement is very important to the improvement of environment quality, especially in the area of watershed (DAS).

"We can imagine, in hot weather like this, the existance of shady trees around us will certainly make it cool and calm," he pointed out.
Head of Forestry Agency Hanif Faisol Nurofiq this action, which aimed to thrill the spirit of green revolution among millenial, was part of the target of planting an area of 32,000 Ha through the Barito River Basin and Protection Forest Management Center (BPDASHL) in the frame work of recovering 8,300 Ha DAS part of national target of 206.000 Ha.
