BNNP Reveals International Sabu-Sabu Network

Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranewskalsel) - The South Kalimantan Nationa Narcotics Agency (BNNP) has managed to uncover international crystal methamphetamine (sabu-sabu) ring and confiscated 2.982 kilograms of the evidence.

"We have just uncovered an international drug network controlled by Nigerian citizens," BNNP Head Marsauli Siregar said in Banjarmasin on Sunday.

He said four people have been arrested on Saturday (9/12), namely US (36), North Kalimantan resident, and AR (49), Balikpapan resident, as carriers. While two brothers, RS (29) and WS (18), were arrested as the recipient of the goods in Banjarmasin.

"The two brothers are the children of our main target, he is the financier who orders the sabu-sabu to the Nigerians residing in Malaysia," Marsauli said, accompanied by Section Chief Investigation, Acts and Chases Suyatmin in the exposure of suspects and evidence.

BNNP South Kalimantan is still trying to pursue the man with initial BB, the financier, who escaped during the arrest.

BB is a recidivist who was arrested by South Kalimantan Police and was released from prison three months ago, he said.

The disclosure of the network of big dealers was after BNNP received information about the supply of crystal meth from Malaysia that will enter Banjarmasin.

Members of the BNNP's Eradication then conducted an investigation to finally sniffed that the sabu-sabu would be brought by land from the Indonesia-Malaysia border in North Kalimantan.

"We divide the members into several teams, because apart from entering Tanjung, there is a possibility of narcotics can pass Batulicin," he said.

When finally finding the target car entering through Tanjung, Tabalong, BNNP members ambushed it at a gas station in Sungkai, Banjar District.

Perpetrators hide as many as five large packages of sabu-sabu weighing a total of 2,952 grams in the rear door.

Initially, said Marsauli, they agreed on the transaction in gas station on Jalan Ahmad Yani Km 14 Gambut, but later turned into the suspect's house.

"In the raids at the perpetrator's house we found seven packets of sabu-sabu weighing 30 grams, so the total evidence in this disclosure is 2,982.2 grams or almost 3 kilograms," he said.
