The government of Tabalong District, South Kalimantan Province, declared two of the district's villages are stunting free this year.
Acting Regent of Tabalong Hamidah Munawarah said the two village that have zero stunting status were Lano Village in Jaro Sub-district and Kinarum Village in Upau Sub-district.
"We consistently reducing the stunting prevelence rate from previously 17.65 percent (2019) to 7.60 percent in 2024," said Hamidah in Tanjung, Tuesday (September 23, 2024).
Tabalong government, she said, had taken various specific and sensitive efforts in June 2024 that effected reduction in the toddler's stunting rate. Of 1,192 targets, 235 toddlers had recovered from stunting, leaving 957 toddlers who need treatment in August 2024.
Previously, she conveyed the results of the Ministry of Home Affairs' evaluation regarding Tabalong government achievement in reducing stunting.

The ministry's team had evaluated the acting Regent's performance in the first period of the second quarter on Monday (September 23, 2024).
Hamida said that stunting handling was one of indicators had been evaluated, besides inflation, open unemployment, extreme poverty, and budget absorption.
About inflation, Tabalong is always stable below the national inflation rate according to Statistics Indonesia (BPS) data during the June-August 2024 period.
"In August 2024 the inflation rate recorded at only 2.11 percent," said Hamida.
The commodities triggering inflation in Tabalong were chilies, shallots, and soybeans.
She revealed that Tabalong government made various concrete efforts to curb inflation by storing food reserves and distributing subsidized fertilizer.
Tabalong also focuses on solving the problems of unemployment through various intervention. The recorded number of unemployment reached 1,521 people.
