The Regent of Kotabaru H Sayed Jafar inaugurated Syaidina Ja'far Cruise Ship Mosque right at the front of Siring Laut Tourism Park as an implementation of Sayed Jafar-Andi Rudi Latif leadership's vision and mission.
The Regent said the aim of building this floating mosque is to help improve the quality of people's faith and this proof that the Kotabaru government is focused on developing religious sector.
"This is not only a tourist attraction that displays the beauty and splendor of the building. It is also a distinctive icon of Kotabaru in addition to the twin swordfish king monument," he said in a press statement here, Thursday (August 15, 2024).

Along with the mosque, the Regent also inaugurated a 2,016 square meters floating stage which is not far from the mosque.
He hopes that the floating stage can be used as a meeting place, developing tourism activities, culture, and entertainment for the people.
It is hoped that the cruise ship mosque will make it easier for tourist visitors to worship.
"This cruise ship mosque should not only be visited during prayer times, but people can prosper it with Islamic activities, such as dhikr and others," he hoped.
Head of Kotabaru Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Office Tuti reported that the building of the mosque consisted of basement, first floor with entrance area, bamega ballroom/hall, office, marbot room, ablution area, toilet and kitchen, then second flood for sound room, management room, prayer area pavilion with a capacity of 640 whorshipers, and the third floor there is a pavilion and prayer area for 330 whorshipers.
She said the construction of the cruise ship mosque took approximately 25 months.
The inauguration was also attended by Deputy Regent, the district leadership communication forum (foskopimda), the government assistant, expert staff, and heads of the government agencies.
