The District Government of Tabalong, South Kalimantan, keeps on optimizing the development of sanitation and drinking water which has now reached 80 percent.
Acting Regional Secretary of Tabalong M Fitri Hernadi said that this effort is to support the superior program ofStrong and Distinguished Tabalong Sanitation (Saraba Kawa).
"The achievement of access to drinking water is more than 80 percent, sanitation 90 percent, and waste management 71 percent," said Fitri here on Friday.
In addition, the handling of slum in 'Bumi Saraba Kawa' (Tabalong's nickname) has reached 46 percent and unhabitable houses (RTLH) handling 50.79 percent.
Based on these achievement, Tabalong is optimistic about winning the Waja Sampai Kaputing Complete Drinking Water and Sanitation (Satu Wasaka) Award initiated by the Provincial Government of South Kalimantan.

Previously, the Satu Wasaka Award 2024 jury team conducted assessment of sanitation and drinking water management in Tabalong, as well as Kick Off Meeting of 2024 Residential Area Housing Warking Group.
The assessment was carried out in four location, Water Processing Installation (IPA) in Belimbing Urban Village, the Anggrek Waste Bank in Pembataan Urban Village, the Pendopo Bersinar TPS 3R or integrated waste processing site, and Fecal Sludge Treatment Plant (IPLT).
Satu Wasaka Award is a prestigious award at provincial level for innovation development of quality sanitation and drinking water.
"Tabalong has won the first ODF in Kalimantan,” he said.
Director of Anggrek Waste Bank Tuty Mardiani said that the visit of Satu Wasaka Award 2024 assessment team really supported the production of eco enzymes, produced by this waste bank.
"The team proposed third party support through CSR program for the development of eco enzyme production," Tuty said.
