The South Kalimantan Animal, Fish, and Plant Quarantine regularly monitors one of arowana fish exporters which has certificate for good fish quarantine method (CKIB) and fish quarantine installation (IKI).
"To guarantee the health and safety of commodities, it is necessary to carry out regular monitoring and surveillance," said Head of South Kalimantan Quarantine Sudirman in Banjarmasin, Monday.
Supervision is carried out, he said, to maintain and ensure consistency in the implementation of CKIB at IKI to be carried out in accordance with provision.

Meanwhile, surveillance is used to control IKI that have been certified to ensure that there is no fish pests and disease in traded commnodities.
"The results showed no clinical simptoms of fish disease in the cultivated arowana ," he said.
Sudirman stated that the quarantine plays a role in providing guarantees that fishery export commodities are healthy, free of disease, good quality, and safe for consumption before departure, so that they can be well received in the domestic and international markets.
Arowana fish is one of South Kalimantan's leading fishery commodities, which is often exported to Japan.
At the end of March 2024, South Kalimantan Quarantine certified 60 live arowana fish consisting of Banjar red and super red species with a total value of IDR95.2 million exported to Sakura country.
