Head of the Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Agency Suprapti Tri Astuti has instructed secretary and technical team to deploy heavy equipment and operator to handle a collapsed bridge in Sungai Taib Village, Pulau Laut Utara Sub-district.
"We receiped the information from the community that the bridge was collapsed and cannot be passed (so we) immediately handle it," said Astuti in Kotabaru, Friday.
Even though the bridge is on the national road, Astuti said, the agency decided to repair it with temporary treatment using seven precast 1x1 holes.
She estimated that the bridge, which is one of the main access to the capital district of Kotabaru, collapsed due to its porous condition, especialy at the bottom.
"We are helping the South Kalimantan Provincial Road Center for handling because it is urgent," she said.
