South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor or Uncle Birin moved quickly by sending logistical assistance and rubber boat to Barito Kuala (Batola) District, which is being hit by flooding.
Head of South Kalimantan Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Raden Suria Fadliansyah here on Tuesday said that the aid was for people affected by floods in the district.
“In every briefing at meeting with government agencies (SKPD), Governor always reminds us the importance of increasing preparedness in facing the threat of floods and other disasters. One if them is being responsive and fast in providing assistance,” Suria said.
Assistance for Batola District is logistics that is still available in the form of food, blankets, and instant noodles.

"We will deliver the rubber boats directly. A team from South Kalimantan BPBD and Batola BPBD will also observe directly the locations of communities affected by the flood, " he said.
Head of the province BPBD, who was accompanied by Head of Prevention and Preparedness Bambang Dedi M, Head of Emergency and Logistics Pormadi, Sub-division Head of Logistics Syahranie Effendi, and Operation Control Center Manager Rifky took time to dialogue with Batola BPBD officials.
Head of Batola BPBD Aris Saputera appreciated the provincial government's quick response to help communities affected by floods in Batola.
Haris said there are nine villages were quite badly affected by floods, including Kuripan, Jambu Baru, Asia Baru, and several others.
Based on data as of Monday, January 29, 2024, Haris revealed that condition of communities affected by floods were handled well and under control.
"The Batola government has also made efforts to carry out handling and mitigation in a number of areas affected by floods," he said.
