Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded year on year (yoy) inflation in South Kalimantan in June 2023 at 4.30 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) combination of three cities showing an increase.
"The June y-o-y inflation stands at 4.30 percent combination of three cities in South Kalimantan with a CPI of 118,94," Head of South Kalimantan BPS Martin Wibisono noted in an official statement here, Tuesday.
The three CPI cities were Banjarmasin with an inflation of 4.38 percent and CPI 118.79, Tanjung inflation 2.38 percent and CPI 116.54, and Kotabaru inflation 5.04 percent and CPI 122.24.
Martin said that the increase in prices has drove inflation showed by 10 expenditure group index on y-o-y basis, namely foods, beverages and tobacco group by 4.50 percent.
Clothing and footwear group increased 3.04 percent, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuel group 3.34 percent, equipment, tools, and hpusehold routine 3.76 percent.
Then, health group 1.50 percent, transportation 10.07 percent, sport and cultural recreation 4.41 percent, education 6.02 percent.
Also food and restaurant procurement group has increased 0.83 percent and personal care and other services group increased by 7.55 percent.
"The biggest contributors to inflation included air freight, filter clove cigarettes, chicken meat, chicekn eggs, mackerel, spinach, tuna, saluang fish, salted squid and biscuits," he expounded.
However, the monthly inflation rate was still restrained by a fall in prices of snakehead fish, rice, fuel, papaya, tilapia, selangat fish, squids, shallots, long beans and sepat siam fish.
Of the 90 cities with inflation in Indonesia, 78 cities experienced month to month inflation, while 12 other cities were in deflation.
The highest inflation in June was in Jayapura 1.36 percent and the lowest in Metro, Jakarta, Kudus, and Ternate 0.01 percent and the deepest deflation was in Sumenep 0.42 percent.
While the lowest deflation was in Mataram 0.02 percent, and the highest yoy inflation was in Ambon 6.10 percent, and the lowest in Gunung Sitoli 1.01 percent.
In Kalimantan on month to month basis, 10 cities were in inflation and two with deflation. The highest inflation was in Tarakan 0.46 percent and the lowest in Tanjung Selor 0.03 percent.
