The Kotabaru Food Security and Agriculture Agency has provided 1,000 chili seeds for each subdistrict to stem inflation, especially in horticulture sector.

"To reduce the impact of long-term inflation we distribute chili seeds to each subdistrict," said Head of Food Crop and Horticulture of the agency Eddy Rahmadi here on Wednesday.

According to him, this is one of the efforts to suppress long-term inflation and to meet the need of residents who are directly affected.

"We work togeter with Family Welfare Movement (PKK) in the distribution," he explained.

In addition, Eddy continued, the agency is also encouraging village cash intensive program (PKTD) in every village to bolster productive community empowerment activities.

"We will also assist in supervision through agricultural extension workers and pest observers (POPT)," he said.

With the alignment of program with village program in term of plantation, especialy chili plants, his party will help farmers through plant pest control officers (POPT) to provide guidance from planting to harvesting chili.

"The groups that have implemented the program are in Pulau Laut Barat and Pulau Laut Selatan subdistricts," he said.
