One of the largest cement producer PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa is committed to producing environmentally friendly cement with low CO2 emissions to bolster sustainable development programs.
President Director of Indocement Christian Kartawijaya said the company has a target of reducing emissions to 575 kg CO2/t cement equivalent in 2025 and 490 kg CO2/t cement equivalent in 2030.
"Our green product is ready to supply cement needs to build the Nusantara Capital City (IKN)," Christian said in commemoration of the Indonesian Building Day (HBI) from the IKN Zero Point as noted in a press statement on Saturday.
The distribution of cement is part of the opportunity to collaborate with Indocement in supplying environmentally friendly materials.
"Other collaborations are in the form of activities that we carry out in Indocement's three factory complexes, including renovation of uninhabitable houses, painting of worship facilities and schools, market construction, church renovation, construction of hawker centers in tourist attraction areas, and many other things." he explained.
The Kalimantan Institute of Technology Rector Prof. Budi Santosa expressed optimism that sustainable construction would be realized, if we continue to work hand in hand.
Director General of Construction Development expounded on Ministerial Regulation Number 9 of 2021 regarding Construction Sustainability.
According to him, that regulation can be the basis and guide to build collaboration in terms of sustainable construction going forward.
"We are very happy with the initiative of this event, so that we can realize our dream of having a sustainable city and infrastructure building in the future," he said.
The HBI event from the zero point of IKN collaborated with the Ministry of PUPR, the Kalimantan Institute of Technology (ITK), and the Indonesian Green Product Council.
