The government of Tapin District has awarded four palm oil companies on the consideration of their contribution to the regional development.

"We hope that the management of large palm oil companies in Tapin to continue to improve their business performance and to absorb a maximum workforce," said Regent of Tapin HM Arifin Arpan, as reported on Monday.

The four companies who received the award were PT Kharisma Inti Usaha, PT Arif Nirwana Utama, PT Analisa Utama, and PT Platindo Agro Subur.

Arifin hopes, the industry of palm oil plantation in the district to be more advanced, thus they can absorb plenty more workers.

Head of Tapin Agriculture Office Wagimin added, in addition to improving business management and production, the companies must consistently comply with the aplicable regulations.

The office noted among the large palm oil companies in the district were PT Hasnur Cipta Terpadu, PT Kharisma Inti Usaha, PT Platindo Agro Subur, PT Kharisma Alam Persada, PT Surya Langgeng Sejahtera, PT Arif Nirwana Utama, and PT Analisa Utama.

Based on the Tapin Manpower Office's data, palm oil companies have indeed dominated the absorption of workers.

In 2021, there were 110 companies with a total 16,208 workers. Two business fields that were dominating the recreuitment of workers, namely 35 mining companies with 5,095 workers and eight plantation companies with 7,941 workers.

With only these two business fields they have absorbed 13,036 workers or about 80 percent of workforce in Tapin.

The remaining 3,172 workers worked in Pertamina, banking, PLN, PDAM, retail, services till contractors.
