Pelaihari, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Tanah Laut Police Chief Superintendent Rizal Irawan said violence against children here has increased.


"From year to year, violence against children has increased," said Police Chief AKBP Rizal Irawan in Pelaihari Thursday.

According to him, in 2013 the case of violence against a child was 64, in 2014 re-discovered as many as 96 child victims of violence and until October 2015 a total of 77 children has been violated.
 
With the rise in number of violence against children, he said, all walks of life in Tanah Laut can perform movement to stop violence against children.
     
The movement, he explained, can be done by parents to control children association and continue to monitor their whereabouts.
     
According to him, usually the perpetrators of violence against children are closer to the child, either biological or step-parents, friends and neighbors.
    
Meanwhile, the Vice Regent of Tanah Laut Sukamta was deeply concerned to hear data on violence against children in the district has increased from year to year.
     
In response, he said, it tries to suppress the violence by coaching program through Women's Empowerment and Child Protection of Family Planning Agency.
     
In efforts to reduce the number of child abuse, it also involves the role of parents, teachers, religious leaders and community leaders.
     
"Stop violence against children. Let us together fight crime against children in this area," he said.
