The Regent of Kotabaru H. Sayed Jafar lauded the success of demfarm as he attended the grand harvest together with Makmur Farmers Group in Sampanahan Village, Sampanahan Sub-district.
The Regent appreciated all parties who cooperated with the local government, especially Makmur Farmers Group in Sampanahan Village who have succeeded in their harvest using the demonstration system of farming in group demfarm).
"The demo farm was implemented on an area of 10 hectares planted with (the superior varieties of) mekongga and inpari 32 with a yield of 3.8 kg," said the Regent, Friday.
Demfarm implements rice planting by using proven rice technology to increase rice production and productivity.
"Alhamdulillah (praise be to Allah) the harvest with demfarm to improve quality and intensification of field rice agribusiness in 2021 was successful. Previously the harvest was 2-3 ton/hectare, after using the technology introduction package is increased to 6.3 ton/hectare," he said.
He hopes in the future there will be millennial farmers because we are developing agriculture with an IT system, which young people understand more.

Sayed Ja'far also appealed to the Agriculture Agency to keep on providing socialization and counseling to farmer groups so their crops do not fail.
"For all agriculture counseling workers in Kotabaru, continue to provide guidance to our farmers so they are assisted in increasing production," he said.
On this occasion, Kotabaru Regent handed over BPJS cards to the Sampanahan community.
Previously, the Regent and the entourage reviewed a COVID-19 mass vaccination in commemoration of the 57th National Health Day (HKN) in Manunggul Lama Village, Sungai Durian Sub-district.
Mass vaccination was also carried out at 28 community health centers (puskesmas) spread across Kotabaru with a target of 15,000. It was centered in the Siring Laut field.
