The Kotabaru District Government received an IDR6.6 billion grant from the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the South Kalimantan Settlement Infrastructure Agency (BPPW).
Head of the agency Dardjat Widjunarso here on Thursday said that there are four elementary schools that received rehabilitation and renovation assistance from the grant funds.
"They are the state elementary school (SDN) Hapungu in Hampang Sub-district, SDN Betung in Pulau Laut Timur, SDN Balaimea in Pamukan, and SDN Rampa Manunggul in Sampanahan," he expounded.
Kotabaru Regent H Sayed Jafar welcomed the grant fund considering the need for schools, especially when face-to-face learning has resumed.
"Hopefully next year Kotabaru will receive the same program from the PUPR Ministry for other schools," he said.

Head of the Kotabaru Education and Culture Agency Selamat Riyadi said that the four schools were previously in the condition heavily damaged.
"Alhamdulillah (praise be to Allah), they are now being repaired by the Ministry through the South Kalimantan Settlement Infrastructure Agency. We will take care of them and maintain them for the smooth of the process of teaching and learning," Selamat said.
