"I appreciate good cooperation so far. I would like to say congratulation and success to ANTARA. Hope it will continue to progress and develop to guard the Indonesian nation according to its main duties and functions," said Sutarto in Banjarmasin, Thursday.
According to him, the various successes achieved by ULM so far cannot be separated from the role of ANTARA in the publication to always report the good performance of ULM which covers Tri Dharma (three mission) of Higher Education, namely education and teaching, research and development as well as community service.
For its openness in the publication of performance that continued to be reported by ANTARA, said Sutarto, ULM won the Information Openness of Public Institution for four consecutive years from the Central Information Commission (KIP).
At its peak, this year ULM has been accredited A and is the only university in Kalimantan that is entering cluster 2 and is ranked 47 best out of 2,136 public and private universities in Indonesia in the higher education cluster issued by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture.
"The achievements of ULM throughout this year is a gift that I also present to ANTARA. Continue to progress to become the main news agency in Indonesia, especially in reporting useful information and warding off hoaxes which greatly affect the public," said the Professor of Mathematics.
ANTARA was estabished on December 13, 1937 in Batavia (Jakarta) by four youngmen, A.M. Sipahoetar, Soemanang, Adam Malik, and Pandoe Kartawigoena.
In 1962, ANTARA officially became the National News Agency (LKBN) under the control of the President of the Republic of Indonesia.
