Kotabaru needs to evaluate and find solutions so that the rate of recovery from COVID-19 can increase from 61 percent to 70 percent.

Acting Regent of Kotabaru M Syarifuddin insisted this during his working visit to the Special Quarantine Hospital for COVID-19 patients in Stagen Village, Pulaulaut Utara Sub-district, Monday, October 5, 2020.

He directly reviewed the condition of facilities and human resources, both health workers and other assistants.

M Syarifuddin said COVID-19 is a pandemic that must be handled by working hand in hand.

"Based on the central COVID-19 task force, the head of the provincial Health Office reported that the recovery rate for COVID-19 patients in Kotabaru is rather low only 61 percent," he said.

While the cure rate in other districts and cities in average is over 70 percent. Therefore, he continued, it is necessary to conduct an evaluation to find out the reason for the low cure rate in Kotabaru.

Meanwhile, Acting Head of Kotabaru Health Agency Hj Ernawati said that the number of health personnel in Stagen Hospital was 35. They consisted of 27 health workers from the community health centers (puskesmas), and 2 doctors, but one doctor is currently attending education.

There was an addition of one doctor from the Kotabaru Navy Command Headquarters, 3 health personnel from Kotabaru Resort Police, and 2 health workers from the 1004 Kotabaru Military Command (Kodim).
