The Tapin Fisheries Agency handed over 6,000 climbing gouramy fresh water fish seed (locally known as papuyu) to the Sungai Puting Village-owned enterprise (BUMDes) in Candi Laras Utara Sub-district.
Head of the agency Parianata said, a biofloc with a diameter of 3 meters and an assistant or supervisor also provided, in addition to 6,000 papuyu seeds.
"What we are submitting i CSR assistance from mining companies PT KPP and PT Hasnur," said the head of the agency Parianata in Sungai Puting, Thursday, October 1, 2020.
He explained that the development and cultivation of papuyu (Anabas Testudineus) is a pilot project for developing freshwater in Tapin.
"The assistance (of papuyu development) that we handed over to the Sungai Puting's BUMDes will become a pilot project," he said.

Papuyu was chosen as an advanced commodity in the biofloc system because it is a herbivore that it enlargement process is faster. Besides, papuyu is able to survive in low water conditions, it is not cannibal, thus risk of fish dying is minimal.
"The harvest period is estimated to be eight months, with an average price per kg on the market Rp20-40 thousand," he said.
Head of Sungai Puting Village Hairinor said papuyu cultivation using the biofloc system not only for the business of BUMDes but to conserve local fish which currently becoming extinct.
"Biofloc will be used to increase the village pure income," he said.
Previously, Tapin government had succeeded in cultivating snakehead fish or haruan in Pabaungan Pantai Village, Candi Laras Selatan Sub-district.
