The district government of Kotabaru continued to establish Kampung Tangguh Banua (resilient village/KTB) in order to cut the coronavirus from spreading.

The Regent and Forkopimda (Regional Leaders Communication Forum) Wednesday morning inaugurated resilient village in Mata Sirih Village, South Pulau Laut Sub-district, then at noon in Teluk Tamiang Village, Pulaulaut Tanjung Selayar, and continued at night to inaugurate kampung tangguh in Sebanti Village, West Pulaulaut.

Chief of Sebanti Village Ahmad Harun said at first he was pessimistic about the declaration of kampung tangguh, but thanks to the motivation and direction of West Pulaulaut Sector Police Chief, it finally succeeded.

"Alhamdulillah, thank you to the sub-district head, police chief, military commander (danramil) who continue to encourage, tirelessly and persistently providing understanding until we can build kampung tangguh," Harun revealed.

Kotabaru Police Chief Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Andi adnan syafruddin explained that the resilient village is built with the purpose to maintain public health and safety from the spread of  COVID-19. It was established thanks to the collaboration and mutual cooperation of all parties, including subdistrict head, Forkopimca, and a village head.

"Alhamdulillah, Kotabaru is in the last position in the confirmed positive case in South Kalimantan. Now 13 kampung tangguhs have been built, if only all villages have built kampung tangguh, I am sure coronavirus will soon disappear from Kotabaru," he said.

Previously Regent H Sayed Jafar said that currently all parties, both government and TNI-Polri are focus on establishing kampung tangguh, in order to save the community from COVID-19 pandemic.
